2007 Husic Family Olive Oil
Silver Medal Winner

Napa Valley, California, Estate Grown
Certified Organic, Extra Virgin Olive Oil

On a hillside overlooking the Stags Leap District of Napa Valley the Husic Family planted 50 fifty year-old manazillo olive trees. The trees are terraced on the hill to resemble the hillsides in Tuscany. Moving endless rocks and sculpting narrow terraces that cling to the mountain's edge, these rocky growing conditions, combined with careful farming methods, produce the award winning Husic Family Olive Oil.

Meticulous farming and rich soils are the key to the success of this oil. The Husic's full time gardener oversees the care of the trees of the trees daily. The olives are carefully hand picked and pressed the same day at the Olive Mill in Sonoma, a CCOF certified organic mill. The oil is allowed to settle for more than 30 days before bottling. Husic olive oil has won Gold Medals at the Los Angeles County Fair two years in a row. This year, the oil won a Silver Medal at the preliminary judging for the Las Vegas Competition.

The 2007 Husic Olive Oil has characteristics of fall harvest oils. It is medium bodied oil with pronounced green almond and mild, grassy, fruity flavors with a slight peppery finish. It has a beautiful golden-green color and aromas of fresh olives.

This olive oil is good on everything, especially with robust soups, pastas, or as a finishing drizzle. 45 cases were produced.
